Kevin Whorton, President
Kevin has worked with a wide variety of charitable organizations and associations with a strong track record in diverse fields including:

Over the years, Kevin has conducted more than 550 quantitative and qualitative research projects for 400 association and nonprofit clients, including needs assessments, membership program reviews, compensation studies, public opinion polls, industry-wide analyses, and product launch/market feasibility.
His experience includes executive staff roles within four large organizations:

Catholic Relief Services Head of their direct response fundraising program, with a $12 million annual expense budget and $85 million in annual revenue.

American Society of Health-System Pharmacists Head of research and marketing for membership, drug information, conferences, and other non-dues revenue.

National Association of Chain Drug Stores Director of Member Programs, then VP of Marketing & Retailer Relations.

National Association of Home Builders Director of Market Research for NAHB and its network of 800 state and local affiliates, and former Housing Policy Analyst/Managing Editor of Housing Economics.
Accomplishments:

Co-founding the successful retail portal Chaindrugstore.net for NACDS.

Establishing a successful syndicated news service for the chain drug industry at NACDS, and a monthly newsletter for 120,000 international relief and development donors at CRS.

Sharply increasing membership for two of the largest clients of Marketing General Inc., the largest direct marketing agency serving associations.

Raising more than $250 million in charitable contributions at CRS from individual donors in three years, increasing overall fundraising while cutting annual expenses by more than 15%.

Winning two worldwide DMA Echo Awards and fundraising program of the year.
- Raising more than $25 million in online donations in three years for Catholic Relief Services.
Kevin also has a long history of commitment to the practice of nonprofit management including presenting to more than 90 national audiences, and serving volunteer roles with the ASAE, DMA Nonprofit Federation, and other organizations.

Vice Chair, Membership Chair, Advisory Board and Executive Committee member, and Conference Chair for the annual Nonprofit Conferences of the Direct Marketing Association Nonprofit Federation (DMANF).

Co-chair twice for Association Day program of the Direct Marketing Association of Washington (DMAW).

He's served 14 terms as a member of the ASAE Research Committee; International, Membership, and Marketing Section Councils, and APAC advisory board member.

He's co-chaired Associations Make a Better World awards, served on Power of A Awards Committee, and served many times as a judge for the Gold Circle Awards.

He served five terms for ASAE's Greater Washington Network action teams, and chaired their Membership Committee.
Kevin earned Bachelor’s degrees in Business and Economics from Idaho State University, a Master's Degree in Economics at George Mason University, attended the University of Maryland PhD program in Economics on a Presidential Fellowship, and completed his PhD coursework in industrial organization at George Mason University.
He continued his professional development with MBA coursework in marketing at George Mason, and holds a certificate from the Hallmark Program for Retail Executive Management from the Northwestern University Kellogg School of Business.
Sasha Wootton, Research Assistant
Sasha coordinates draft report production, develops survey graphics, manages survey and prospect databases, and coordinates office management for WM&R.
She was formerly Executive Assistant for Horizon Print Solutions in Las Vegas.
Her dachshund Autumn also provides office security.
Amanda Pilcher, Research Assistant
Amanda supports our qualitative research and business development functions at WM&R. Originally from Reno, she brings an air of mystery and sophistication to our office. (Don't worry, we'll fix this later.)
